Tony Donnelly is a visual artist based in Co. Tyrone, Northern Ireland.
He graduated with a BA (Hons) Fine Art from the University of Ulster, Belfast in 1991.
He has received individual awards from the Arts Council of Northern Ireland and the Arts Council of Ireland and his work is held in the permanent collections of the Arts Council of Northern Ireland, the Naughton collection as well as numerous private collections.
His work has been exhibited in the Visual Centre for Contemparary Art, Carlow, The Naughton Gallery at Queen's Belfast and in the Royal Ulster Academy.
"I am interested in Visual Perception and the relationship between the eye, the brain and the embodied self.
Perhaps Art can fill this synaptic gap in the expression of the emergent subjective self and offer a perspective on the "head that examines itself".
